Spicy curry refreshes your mind and body!

It's been so hot these days, hasn't it. I'm often tempted to switch on the air conditioner but I've tried not to as I am a green consumer. As you know air conditioners have a negative effect on not only global warming but also on our health. Leaving the air conditioner on through the night may make you feel tired next morning. This month I am going to talk about spicy curry that will refresh your mind and body.

Curry---the Indian herbal remedy
Everyone loves curry, but have any of you tried real Indian curry which is healthy and tasty? Indian curry contains a lot of different spices which have natural healing effects and a lot of them are used as traditional herbal remedies. Here are some of the spices found in curry powder.
  • Fennel
Combines well with meat and fish. Gets rid of grease and the smell of meat.
Medical Uses: Stimulates digestion, freshens bad breath.

  • Cinnamon
    Combines well with sweet dishes.
    Enhances sweetness.

  • Coriander
Similar smell to oranges. Thickens the dish.
Medical uses: Aids and soothes digestion, useful for antiseptic, detoxifies.

  • Cumin
This is at the root of the smell of curry.
Useful for digestive complaints such as constipation.

  • Turmeric
This dictates the color of curry.
Keeps your skin in good condition.
Let's make the ideal curry!
The curry you normally find in the supermarket contains many different addictives. Instant food normally contains a lot of chemicals, so you should avoid them. Be aware of what addictives the curry contains and try to choose the one with the least amount of addictives.

If you want to get the ideal curry, there are some organic curry powders on the "fair trade" market. Making real Indian curry using organic curry powder is very enjoyable. The key to making the real Indian curry is to fry the onions thoroughly until they become brownish (be careful not to burn them), then add the curry powder and fry until mixture forms a paste. Add water and then anything you like.

Now why don't you make your own Indian curry, with a lot of fresh vegetables? The pleasant aroma will fill your kitchen and stimulate your appetite. Also the effect of the herbs will heal your body, and fresh vegetables, full of vitamins and minerals, will give you energy.
